@doronk It has been so long that I actually do not have this setup anymore. I am sure my config file is not anywhere close to the same.

@doronkatz Yeah I have run into that issue as well. I am not totally sure what I did to fix it to be honest. Maybe post it to some CF forums.

Hi mate, I followed your instructions carefully, and have tried this twice, installing and uninstalling CF and MAMP. After installation, I try to go to the adminitsrator/index.cfm and it asks me to download the file. Ive looked over the DirectoryIndex in /MAMP/conf/apache/httpd.conf ==> "DirectoryIndex index.cfm default.cfm index.html index.php" and restarted CF and MAMP and it still asks me to download it. I dont get it... lol...

@raychampagne So so glad that this helped man. Belive me I know what a pain the setup was. It took me a week to figure it out and get it working as well. Really glad the tutorial helped you out.

d00d...you are a God among men. I am a very experienced CF developer new to the Mac world. Have been struggling for days trying to get my local dev set up on my Macbook. Watching this video finally bridged all the gaps and I am happy to say that I am up and running. Gonna distribute this link to all that I can. I really really appreciate the help. I was *this* close to returning the machine, thinking that it was too much hassle to continue. I might become a Mac fanboy yet...

Matthew, I followed your example to a "T" (after uninstalling and reinstalling several times!) I'm still getting the "index.cfm.class" being downloaded to my desktop when I try to go to:
http://localhost/CFIDE/administrator/

This is a new (to me) MacBook Pro. I have MAMP and Coldfusion8 running beautifully on my PowerBook G4.

Something is still not registering the '.cfm" extension to be handled by Leopard/MAMP (latest version, BTW).

If I get CF to "work" then Apache on MAMP won't restart. The /MAMP/conf/apache/httpd.conf gets this (set up by CF install I presume):

# JRun Settings
... (about 20 lines of code)

If I delete these lines (comparing the original file before CF install changed it). Then the MAMP allows Apache to restart just fine. But no CF...

Help! I don't want to carry two laptops around just to be able to use MAMP and Coldfusion 8.
